For years we’ve known that cigarette smoking is linked to emphysema, lung cancer and other illnesses. Each year, many people decide they want to quit smoking once and for all.
While deciding to quit is a good move, unfortunately, the addiction to the nicotine contained in each cigarette makes it really hard for the average smoker to quit.
There are many aids like gums, patches and pills on the market that will help people to stop smoking. A lot of people are helped by these products, but they do not work for everyone.
If you’re a smoker who has tried to quit time and time again, but have not been helped by other methods, hypnosis therapy may be a welcome alternative.
Many people, who have almost given up on being able to quit smoking, are finding success with hypnotherapy. This kind of hypnotism is not the same kind you will see when watching a hypnotist act for entertainment.
Hypnotherapy is not about making you say and do funny things. Hypnotherapy works because it uses positive suggestion to influence your behavior.
Hypnosis works on the subconscious part of your brain. Subconscious thought is very powerful and we often bemoan the fact that we have a lot of negative subconscious thoughts about ourselves. However, your subconscious mind can be trained to think positive thoughts as well.
Hypnosis successfully plants suggestions deep into your brain. When you awake and go about your everyday business, you’ll begin to act on these positive suggestions.
When hypnosis is used to stop smoking, the hypnotherapist will make gentle suggestions to the smoker, who is in a completely relaxed state of mind.
This hypnosis style does not control the person’s mind or body movements. While the smoker is relaxed, they will be very accepting to the suggestions that the hypnotherapist repeats.
The smoker is told over and over again that they no longer wish to smoke. The voice will reinforce a very strong message that cigarettes are no longer needed or desirable.
After going through the hypnosis, the smoker will still experience cravings for cigarettes every once in a while, but will be able to resist due to the deep belief that they no longer need to light up.
Studies show that when hypnosis is used to help people to quit smoking, there is an 80% success rate. Most smokers who are successful with this method are people who are highly motivated to quit smoking and respond well to hypnosis.
You can choose to either visit a qualified hypnotherapist who is trained to treat smokers, or you can buy a hypnosis CD or Mp3 download and do-it-yourself at home. If you choose to do it yourself, you can save money and listen to the hypnosis session anywhere you wish.
No matter how you choose to get the hypnosis therapy, the important thing is to stick with it until you’ve completely kicked the habit. Giving up smoking is not easy because it is a serious addiction, however, you must do it because of the long-term health problems you may experience due to smoking. Plus, I’m sure you’re tired of stained teeth, yellow hands, coughing and smoker’s breath.
You can stop smoking with hypnosis therapy right now if you really want to finally be done with this awful habit. The choice is yours. If you make this commitment to yourself now, you will ensure that you’ll be able to live a much happier and healthier lifestyle.

How to Use Hypnosis to Stop Smoking By Thomas Inglis Smith Thomas Inglis Smith Level: Basic I am a counsellor, hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner and
Self hypnosis is an interesting concept that many people are skeptics of. If you have tried multiple aids to help you quit smoking without success, you are not alone.
This is one of the most difficult addictions to break, and it takes many people years of countless attempts to be successful. If this is the first time you have considered the possibility of using hypnosis to stop smoking, keep an open mind and think about the opportunity to quit smoking with the use of self hypnosis downloads.
Whenever the word "hypnosis" is declared, many people imagine comedy acts of hypnotists causing their "patients" to cluck like a chicken or perform other bizarre acts.
Get this image out of your mind straight away, as using hypnosis to stop smoking is a somber matter taken at the highest level of importance. It is common knowledge that the simple power of suggestion is a commanding force.
This knowledge is essential if self hypnosis downloads are to be effective for you. You must be willing to believe that your condition can be changed for the better with the use of hypnosis. Only then will treatment work for you.
Many people who seek the help of hypnosis to stop smoking go into it with the wrong impression. Quitting the habit of smoking is never easy, and while hypnosis can be an extraordinarily beneficial treatment, people who have undergone hypnotherapy have reported the occasional craving for a cigarette.
In addition to therapy sessions, will power on the part of the participant is essential to breaking the addiction. Self hypnosis downloads are available for you so that even when a session is not scheduled, you can sit down and relax when you get the urge to smoke. There is a way to break the habit, and this could be the answer for you!
It is important that you go into a hypnosis program with a coach who is open with you on all levels. Your counselor should be qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist so you can avoid scams.
The best part about using hypnosis to stop smoking is that self hypnosis downloads allow you to continue your treatment even when your counselor is out of town or if he holds his practice too far away from where you live to be convenient to meet with regularly. If you need help to stop smoking, even if you do not live in the UK, you can find help through hypnosis at http://www.selfhypnosisdownloads.co.uk.

What You Need to Know to Stop Smoking Through Self Hypnosis By Jonathan Vegga
All of us know that smoking is hazardous. Smoking could lead to several physical ailments like shortness of breath, infertility, and the most dangerous disease of all, cancer. Still, we are not able to stop smoking due to the sweet (?) addiction that it had gained on us.
Is it really possible to stop smoking? Several people with a strong will power had stopped smoking instantly, when they decided they had enough of smoking. On the other hand, ordinary persons would not be able to do so quite so easily. The answer is,stop smoking through self hypnosis.
When you hear the word hypnosis, you would attribute it to expert psychiatrists. In fact, we never know that hypnosis does not need a psychiatrist. It is a simple practice that all of us could easily do to achieve anything in the world.
If you wish to stop smoking through self hypnosis, you need not even approach any psychiatrist. Follow the steps detailed below and you would surprise yourself that you had been able to rid smoking habit quite easily.
The first step in the process of stopping smoking through self hypnosis is auto questioning. Sit alone and ask yourself frankly why you smoke. Write down the so-called benefits of smoking, along with the physical, mental, and environmental problems that could arise out of your smoking. Be sincere in your writing. You would either understand that you should either quit smoking or end up in a mortuary much earlier.
When you had understood that quitting smoking is the best option, then you should use hypnosis to suggest your subconscious mind that smoking is only going to kill you and others around you slowly but in a sure fashion.
This would help your mind to slowly understand that smoking is not helping you, your family members, your neighbors, and the people at large in the city but only harming everyone.
When you had been able to understand the above points and hypnotize your mind to accept the above facts, you would be able to auto-suggest to yourself whenever you get the craving for smoking.
This might take a few weeks but it is quite easy to stop smoking through self hypnosis, if you really want to try.

If I Stop Smoking Will I Put on Weight? By Erika Slater Erika Slater Level: Platinum Erika Salter is a Certified Hypnotist in Massachusetts. Erika
One of the most common excuses I hear from smokers why they don't want to quit smoking is they worry they'll put on weight. This is a myth which I'll put to rest for you. This fallacy has been circulating for eons like pollen floating around in spring time.
The mere act of quitting will not cause one to explode like a Chia Pet! It's what most people do after they quit smoking which causes them to put on the weight...and none of it is smoking-related.
Let's be realistic. How many obese people are there in the world who never tried smoking? And the answer is: you can't gain any weight unless you eat. In this situation, it becomes a case of excessive eating.
Does nicotine affect weight and weight fluctuation?
First, since nicotine is a stimulant, which is a drug that causes a rise in the central nervous system (speeding up one's metabolism), it's natural to assume that quitting smoking removes a built in weight loss program.
So does nicotine consumption affect one's basal metabolic rate and cause the burning of calories? You know what - it kind of does, but not as much as you think. In the beginning, it might have caused the body to burn calories faster than before they started to smoke.
However, some people have been smoking so long that the nicotine has basically reached a point where it no longer has an effect whether smoking or not smoking. As a matter of fact, how many people are there who smoke that are already over-weight or obese in the first place? Why aren't they slimmer or able to keep off the weight? After all, they do have nicotine in their systems don't they?
It is not the nicotine or lack of nicotine per se which creates weight gains or weight losses.
People in 3rd world countries are not thin as rakes because they're smokers. Conversely, many of them don't smoke just as many of them can't afford to eat! It is all about food -added calories! Those who gain the most weight after they quit smoking are the ones who usually do the most eating or consuming the most calories.
Many individuals who quit smoking or quit drinking alcohol usually put on a lot of weight because they compromise themselves - they use sugar and empty carbohydrates as a substitute for their previous addiction/vice. The sugar or empty carbs (junk food) become their new vice, or if you will "comfortable substitute".
For some, idle hands (not smoking) become evil hands (the need to compensate for their oral habit-increased eating). This is when compulsive eating begins taking the place as the "oral action" substitute.
Most people think that smoking per se is all about the consumption of nicotine.
This is a misconception. Smoking is a physical, conditioned habit which requires rote learned skills, such as lighting up, holding the cigarette, inhaling, exhaling, and socializing.
Think about this for a moment...what other activity do people engage in that requires the same kinds of skills? If you guessed eating and drinking, you got it! They require the same kinds of mimicking skills as smoking.
It should come as no surprise that when someone gives up their smoking habit/addiction they find an immediate substitute requiring the same kinds of skills and oral gratification. And when the substitute they choose contains a lot of added calories, is it any wonder many smokers put on weight when they quit smoking?
So the answer to the original question of "If I quit smoking will I put on weight" is... you will if you change your eating habits by substituting calories for nicotine.
Those fearful of falling into this trap are advised to combine their stop smoking campaign with a healthy diet and exercise. After all eating healthy foods and exercising - walking is fine - is something that should be a part of everyone's daily living habits.

Quit Smoking Time! Your Big Day Has Arrived. Try My Success Secrets.
You’ve tried in the past and failed to quit smoking. Time to make you a permanent ex-smoker. Right?
Let’s get started.
First off, note that whatever quit smoking method you choose it must cover the habitual, mental, emotional, behavioral, physical and chemical aspects. How much and what treatment to use will be determined by each individual’s makeup. What works for one won’t necessarily work for another.
I’m going to share with you what worked for me and turned me into an ex-smoker for 32 successful years
My Secret #1: Be Certain You’re Ready for Your Quit Smoking Time
From a mental standpoint: The very first thing you have to do to ensure you will succeed is to be absolutely certain you do want to quit smoking, that you are determined to quit smoking no matter how many times you tried in the past.
This is crucial to your success. You have to be truly ready to quit. No excuses. You’ve made the decision and you’re sticking with it and you’ll do whatever it takes.
Your decision must have a firm basis, like wanting to stay healthy, or getting rid of the inconvenience of smoking, or to protect your family from second-hand smoke.
Or maybe you just want to get fit so you can enjoy physical activity without gasping for breath.
Find a good reason to quit and implant it firmly in your mind. Get into the mindset that you want to and will quit. You cannot waver.
My Secret #2: Find Ways To Trick Your Mind
From an emotional standpoint: Figure out ways to trick yourself whenever you get the urge to light up.
When I quit smoking 30 years ago, I dreaded the finality of tossing out my last cigarettes. With each attempt to quit, I panicked knowing I didn’t have any to fall back on should I weaken in my plan to quit smoking. Time after time, I’d say, “That’s it. I quit" and immediately freak out because I didn’t have any cigarettes in my possession. It was all I could think about.
“What if I get a craving and I don’t have any cigarettes?"
“What if the craving hits me in the middle of the night when the stores are closed?"
This is where the agitation, irritability, tension and stress come from when we decide it’s quit smoking time and throw away our cigarettes and try not to think about them. Of course we’re going to think about them. They’ve meant too much to us for all those years.
Ultimately, that frenzied feeling exaggerated the comfort I felt when I did have them available. This just confirmed how important cigarettes were to me. It put doubts in my mind about why I was quitting in the first place.
Suddenly, my original reason to quit was less important. This caused me to continue smoking for many years until I finally came up with a secret to trick my mind.
Every quit smoking tip I’ve read stresses throwing away your last cigarettes so you can’t be tempted, but this doesn’t work for all people.
The key for me was to keep the last 3-4 cigarettes on me at all times. I put them in my purse where I wouldn’t see them every time I opened it. There was comfort in knowing they were there, but they weren’t a constant temptation.
Having them enabled me to turn my focus away from cigarettes. Not having them put me in a constant stress state.
This trick worked because I only needed to know that they were available. Then, I was free to choose to smoke or not to smoke.
I knew that if the urge became too overwhelming, I had access to a cigarette to ease that stress. Without that stash, I had no ‘choice’. Without it, I had to quit smoking.
Having a choice puts more control in your hands, so you feel less stressed. In turn, this eases some of those emotional upheavals we go through when we try to withdraw from an addictive substance.
My Secret #3: Find A Cigarette Substitute
From a habit standpoint: Habit causes you to continue smoking. It’s become a huge part of your lifestyle and that makes it very difficult to quit smoking. Time to find another way to keep your hands busy.
I remember when they first came out with stop smoking aids. One was a type of cigarette holder that you picked up to replicate holding a cigarette. I don’t know if they’re still on the market, but this gives you the idea.
My ‘secret’ substitute was a bag of candies and a continuous supply of water. On my desk I kept a huge bag of sweets to pop into my mouth. Taking sips of water provided the hand-to-mouth action that had become such an ingrained habit.
A pen would provide the same experience. I’ve always been a pen chewer, so don’t be afraid to use this as a suitable and safe replacement. Make it a ‘special’ pen to give it more importance for you.
Maybe it’s design feels good in your hand, or perhaps it belonged to one of your children.
My Secret 4: Overcome the Need for Chemical Aids
From a chemical standpoint: There’s a lot of hype these days about patches, pills and special diets to help you to quit smoking. Personally, I avoid any form of ‘medication’ unless it’s absolutely crucial.
I’m a firm believer that society has become far too dependent on medications for everything from quitting smoking to pain (even bearable pain) to dieting and tons of things beyond.
There are warnings on practically all such treatments that can actually cause more damage to your body.
One such warning states that pregnant women can damage and cause birth defects to the fetus if they use nicotine patches and pills. There are many more scary potential side effects from taking patches, pills, lozenges, gums, etc.
Some common reactions to chemical replacement therapy include having the jitters, irritability, nervousness, insomnia and panic attacks. Some people experience skin rashes and welts with patches.
There are some potentially dangerous side effects if you have heart, blood pressure or liver problems. Gum can be habit forming as well, which really doesn’t resolve your problem much.
Besides, the long term use can increase the risk of the formation of a carcinogenic chemical in your body. The artificial sweeteners used in gum, lozenges and tablets are known to cause neurological and other health problems.
And if that isn’t enough to scare you, there are many troubling side effects, a major one being the tendency for seizures. (Approx. 1 in every 1,000 people have a seizure, which may involve convulsions and loss of consciousness.) As many as 3 in 1,000 people have a severe allergic reaction that requires medical attention.
Symptoms include mild to severe foggy thinking, headaches, nausea, insomnia (often serious), shakes, weight gain, sugar and carb cravings, sweating, constipation, personality disorders, suicidal tendencies (many thousands have been reported) and some deaths.
People report an inability to cope with a normal work day, and anything requiring study or taking exams is totally out of the question. If these stop smoking aids are mixed with alcohol, heart medications, caffeine, most drugs, or are taken by people who have any history of mental disorders, eating disorders, diabetes, and previous head or organ injury or disease, more risks are imminent. Of course, if children could be exposed to serious overdosing if they get their hands on them.
(*stats provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other agencies and sources) So as I said, it’s best to try to quit without these types of stop smoking aids.
My Secret Quit Smoking Time
To recap, these are the secrets used in my quit smoking time that enabled me to succeed:
Get into the mind set that quitting is the only choice – It’s a matter of your health and your life expectancy!
Trick your mind by having a stash available, even though you are not planning to use it. This will provide comfort knowing you do have a choice – but you choose not to smoke – for now.
Play the delay game. Plan to start your quit smoking time when you go to bed and thereafter, you will already have gone 8 hours without a cigarette when you awake. Remind yourself of this. Question every desire to light up. Can you wait another 10 minutes? Half an hour? Remind yourself how long you’ve gone without a cigarette and feel proud of your accomplishment.
Get busy and you’ll soon forget about the time. It only takes 7 days to quit – 14 days to break the habit and for the thought of having a cigarette to fade. Remind yourself of this fact.
Find a substitute for the habit. Change your routine so the ones that involve having a cigarette are removed. Avoid spicy foods that trigger the urge to smoke. Keep fresh cool water beside you at all times and keep sipping when the urge strikes.
Avoid chemical substitutes and herbal remedies. They can be just as dangerous as the cigarettes themselves and just as habit forming. Smoke is smoke! Seek out natural methods. Here is one excellent quit smoking program that I highly recommend.
Ex-smoker Rick Beneteau worked with a group of professionals to help him put together his program which includes a series of mind power audios. He educates you about your addiction, explains why you can’t quit and how to overcome it, lists all the dangerous ingredients you’re inhaling along with their dangers (cancer isn’t the only thing you have to worry about), how you have been lied to about cigarettes, and what steps you need to take to quit smoking. Time to get started.
Go here now and read my review of this highly successful quit smoking program. http://www.book-titles.ca/StopSmoking.htm . Rick guarantees that if you don’t quit, he’ll refund your money. You can only lose if you don’t try.
Sylvia Dickens is an ex-smoker who has been smoke-free for 32 years at last count. Today, she repeatedly gets a clean bill of health from her doctor, which she contributes to quitting smoking all those years ago. She understands the struggle and has routed out this terrific program that is guaranteed to work, no matter how long you’ve been smoking or how many times you’ve tried to quit. If you truly want to Quit Smoking (and are fed up with programs, patches, pills and gums that are expensive and don't work), don’t disappoint yourself. Click here and get started in 3 minutes. Quit in 3 hours. Read the review at http://www.book-titles.ca/StopSmoking.htm
Let’s get started.

Quit Smoking Side Effects
There are a whole host of quit smoking side effects and not all of them are pleasant. Besides the obvious health benefits, there are also a number of side effects associated with withdrawal from nicotine. Coupled to this, if you quit smoking using a medication such as zyban or chantix, you may pick up some other drug related side effects.
The most obvious reason why people quit smoking is for the health benefits but what are they specifically?
Notably, blood pressure, heart rate and lung efficiency all improve very quickly after quitting smoking - in a matter of days. Nicotine levels and carbon monoxide levels in the blood return to natural levels with in a couple of days. These are very positive quit smoking side effects.
Smokers will also develop a much better sense of taste and their breathing may well become easier. However, one frequently reported quit smoking side effect is the amount of coughing some ex-smokers suffer from. In my own experience, I found the first six months to be a rather cough filled period of my life.
It was all 'wet' as the cilia (the little hairs in you lungs) got to work clearing 20 years of tar out of my lungs! I also contracted more colds that winter than ever before but that could be for completely different reasons.
Statistical research shows circulation and lung function improve dramatically over the 10 to 15 year period after smokers quit. And quit smoking side effects are all positive in terms of improving life span with lung cancer risk halved over 15 years and heart attack risk halved after just one year.
The side effects associated with Zyban (Wellbutrin or bupropion) and Chantix (Champix or Varenicline) can all be rather unpleasant. Personally, I do not favour the use of drugs if at all possible because I believe quitting smoking is all in your head - but that is another story!
The worst quit smoking side effect associated with Zyban is the likelihood of seizure when taken as part of a quit smoking regimen. The higher the dose the higher the risk and zyban was initially removed from the FDAs approved list after a number of seizures in patients.
Chantix has several minor side effects but in as many as 30% of smokers taking the drug, the therapy must be abandoned due to nausea and vomiting. You understand why I would advise to steer clear if at all possible!
The other quit smoking side effects aside from the positive health benefits and the negative side effects of the two most widely used drug therapies, are to do with nicotine withdrawal itself.
The list of side effects noticed when a person quits smoking is long - some are nice like the improved sense of smell and taste, some are unpleasant. There is the heightened anxiety that comes from trying to quit nicotine. People often have a much shorter temper and are irascible at the slightest thing.
Others include an inability to concentrate or to sleep sometimes compounded by other quit smoking side effects such as postnasal (back of your mouth) drip, sore throat, dry mouth and headache. An insatiable cough can be a big hindrance too!
Intestinal discomfort can also be suffered with increased flatulence, constipation, nausea and cramps being amongst some of the less pleasant side effects. It is recommended that if you are suffering from increased appetite when you quit smoking, eating more fruit and raw vegetables such as carrot or raw cauliflower and drinking plenty of fluids will help your digestion.
There are many, many more perceived quit smoking side effects and everyone suffers a different selection of the wide range - including breaking out in spots like a teenager, sweating profusely, fatigue and tingling extremities!
The downside of all of these quit smoking side effects is that whilst each one is not so bad on its own, the cumulative effect of so many negative side effects act as a trigger to break down your commitment to stop smoking. No matter what the inconvenience of the side effects, they are a small price to pay for the benefits of quitting smoking.
As ever, whatever you do and whichever method you use to quit smoking, never quit trying to quit!

How to Quit Smoking Pot The Secrets Revealed
Is marijuana addictive?
That has been the 64 thousand dollar question! And, the answer to that question seems to ride solely on the chemical co-dependence theory. From time to time, I'm sure you've heard someone ask; is this substance addictive or that substance addictive, right! The list could go on and on couldn't it? Well, to answer that question, nothing is addictive but any substance or activity can be used as an addiction! In other words, people choose addictive behavior, and there is a primary reason why they do.
Have you ever wondered why some people can smoke pot, use a drug, or drink alcohol and walk away from it yet others can not? If these substances were in fact chemically addictive or caused a chemical co-dependence by attacking key receptors in the brain, wouldn't everyone who tried the substance once become addicted to it? The answer is yes! But, that doesn't happen EVER! However, the chemical co-dependence model has become a common methodology, which has been perpetuated by our own government agency the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA.) If you visit the (NIDA) website you will find countless CT scans displaying the chemical effects of psychoactive substances on the human brain.
Now, I am not disputing the fact that marijuana, drugs, alcohol, nicotine and other substances do chemically alter the brain, however, so do other innocuous substances such as sugar and salt. And furthermore, that chemical alteration is not the root cause of the addiction and nor does it prevent addiction recovery.
The Root cause of Marijuana Addiction
I believe there is a common denominator or root cause of every addiction. So, whether you're addicted to marijuana, drugs, alcohol, sex, food, or gambling, they all have a common thread.
Plain and simple, the root cause of addiction is the emotional scars caused by family dysfunction. Patterns of verbal, sexual, and physical abuse, along with absentee parenting and substance abuse cause emotional trauma.
This emotional trauma results in low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. As an addiction recovery coach, I have never experienced a single case of addiction that wasn't rooted in family dysfunction not one!
The Effects of Marijuana
There has been a great deal of controversy concerning the classification of marijuana as a drug. Is it a stimulant, a depressant, or a hallucinogen? Unlike most other substances such as cocaine, opiates, and alcohol, which are classified as either stimulants or depressants, marijuana seems to be quite unique since it exhibits the effects of all three classifications.
The major psychoactive chemical in marijuana is called delta-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Therefore, as the level of (THC) rises, so does the strength and potency of the pot.
Even though marijuana seems to induce mostly hallucinogenic effects, it also causes stimulation and depression. The effects of marijuana can vary from one individual to the next, but if you've been smoking pot, I'm quite sure you understand the changing dynamics of the experience.
Initially, there is a stimulating and euphoric effect that elevates heart rate and blood pressure. This stage is frequently followed by a hallucinogenic phase where some may experience impaired vision, delusions, and even paranoia.
And the final phase usually results in a mellowed or somewhat depressed state, which often exacerbates anxiety and depression. This may seem to be counterproductive since most individuals using marijuana habitually are doing so to cope with anxiety and depression. However, for some the former euphoric and hallucinogenic benefits seem to out way the later depressive phase.
How to Quit
OK! I'm not going to mince words here. Will power has nothing to do with quitting. Absolutely, unequivocally nothing at all! If you really want to quit smoking pot you're going to have to face the issues that are causing your anxiety, depression, and emotional distress.
Fix the root of the problem and smoking pot will become repulsive to you. Start by examining your history. What types of dysfunctional patterns have contributed to your emotional pain? Were you verbally, physically, or sexually abused as a child? Were you forced to parent your siblings or worse one of your parents as a child? Or, did one or both of your parent's abuse alcohol and drugs? How have these patterns caused your anxiety, depression, and/or low self-esteem? Once you uncover these negative patterns, you must take the action necessary to liberate your self from them. This is the foundation required for empowering yourself and restoring your self-esteem, which is a vital component to addiction recovery. Let's face it! If you really felt a strong sense of self-worth would you be engaging in self-destructive behavior?

Can You lose Weight AND Quit Smoking at the Same Time?
I used to smoke two to three packs each and every day of a popular name brand cigarette that comes in a red and white pack with black letters and the name begins with an "M". Enough said about that, now you know I am an ex-smoker.
Here you sit, at your computer and you want to lose weight and quit smoking. You feel as if you can not do one with out the other. Both are unhealthy and yet you are thinking you would rather smoke than gain weight. You believe that if you do not smoke you have to gain weight. Before we tackle that myth, let us look at some things learned from those who have gone before.
Addicted to cigarettes
You may think you are addicted to tobacco and it is sad to report to you that you are not that addicted. Sure I could quote all the facts about what is really in the box with the "M", but let us try this simple test. For this test you even get to smoke. I will even let you smoke as much as you want.
But I want you to change your cigarettes to the roll your own kind. No, I am not talking about smoking pot, I am speaking of using plain old roll your own tobacco. You will be able to roll smoke after smoke after smoke of pure tobacco and you will still want to smoke a cigarette with the "M".
This is because you are addicted to not only the tobacco but also the CHEMICALS that are ADDED to the tobacco. Doubt this? Try it for yourself.
Death by Stupidity
You have one life to live. Every year 400,000 people DIE from smoking related illnesses. Every year 300,000 people die from being over weight. So if you are an over weight smoker then there is a pretty good chance you will die from one or the other. All too often we are "politically correct".
We are afraid to tell others (especially in the work place) what truly needs to be told. So here goes, just between you and me and the solitude of the monitor you are looking into right now.---"If you are an over weight smoker and you die, it was a pretty stupid thing to do." There it was said. Yes, to die from a completely preventable death is a pretty stupid thing to do.
Oh Yes, The Diet Question
It is very possible to gain weight when you quit smoking but it in fact has little to do with the slowing of your metabolism. Sure, it is a tad bit harder to lose the weight when you quit smoking but that really is just an excuse to justify your "inability" to actually quit.
The reason you gain weight will more than likely be caused by the fact that you are eating more. You can not escape the reality that fat is the result of taking in more calories than you burn. Period! Nothing more and nothing less. If you quit smoking do not turn to food to keep your hands busy. Do not use food as a crutch and for heavens sake, do not use food as an excuse to keep smoking.
72 Hours
Your body is only craving nicotine for 72 hours after you quit. So why do you still want a smoke two weeks later? This is a simple question to answer. It is either all in your mind or the chemicals added make you crave something that is not tobacco.
If it is in your mind, then it should be just a matter of discipline and if it is a chemical added then why the heck would you allow yourself to inhale some chemical someone created for you to get addicted to in the first place?
Before we go I now find it amusing that I used to have a nice car and always smoked with the windows opened and held the cigarette out the window. Why was I more worried about my car than my lungs?
If you want to quit then quit. If you want to lose weight then make the choice. Just do not allow yourself to make one the excuse for doing the other.

Stop Smoking Marijuana - Symptoms and Very Effective Tips to Help You to Do Away With the Habit By King J. For
With other symptoms like impaired judgment, comprehension, memory, speech, problem-solving ability, reaction time, and driving skills, marijuana addiction can be compared to alcoholism. Smoking the substance can damage your lungs and increase your risk of lung cancer.
You are in luck if you want to break this horrifying habit because marijuana is not physically addicting. For all the above-mentioned effects of the drug, it apparently has no known physical withdrawal symptoms.
As a result, discontinuing the use of the substance is very possible and relatively easier than when you are hooked on nicotine. Although psychological dependence develops in a lot of long-term regular users of marijuana, they can be helped by simple therapy and perhaps some hospitalization.
However, getting help to break a marijuana smoking habit is not all that it takes to quit; you have to be determined on your own to abstain. Because it does not draw on your nerves the way nicotine does, it cannot 'cause' you to come back for more. As such, any return to the use of the substance after quitting is most likely a deliberate act, and one that is not in your best interest. The fact that it is rumored to damage brain cells should be reason enough to make you stop smoking marijuana.
Your doctor can really be of help to you in ensuring that you do away with marijuana. A visit to this physician can provide recommendations that will help you to do away with this habit, once and for all.
